About Azra
Most consultancies advise on clinical services from the outside. Azra Chang advises from within. She is a consultant anaesthetist and pain specialist who chose to step out of clinical training to understand why healthcare systems keep failing the people who work in them and the populations they serve.
Azra trained in the London Deanery as a specialist registrar in anaesthetics before taking an Out of Programme Experience to explore healthcare management and consulting. She worked at Deloitte as a management consultant and conducted research at Cass Business School, gaining a perspective that few clinicians and even fewer consultants possess: a deep understanding of both frontline clinical reality and the strategic levers that shape how healthcare organisations operate.
She returned to healthcare with a conviction that the art of the possible is far larger than most leaders allow themselves to imagine.
At Strasys, Azra works with leadership teams to reimagine healthcare and improve population outcomes. She brings a rich blend of clinical, research, and management experience across healthcare providers, academia, and consultancies internationally. Her work helps leaders discover what is genuinely achievable when clinical insight meets strategic rigour and a willingness to think differently about how services are designed and delivered.
Azra has been part of Strasys's international work, including supporting leaders in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East to build new value-based healthcare models that place population need at the centre of system design.
